A Chilean Story

A Chilean Story is a project that aims to research the heritage of the Chilean Community in the Liverpool City Region from 1970 to the present day.

This story has never been told and there is nowhere people can learn about the strong and incredible heritage of this community. We will do this by creating a clear timeline of the Chilean Story we will be able to better identify and record the heritage of the Chilean community in the region. We will deliver a minimum of twenty oral history interviews and create a series of learning materials which will be freely accessible to the community and the general public. These will include a book of the stories; a summary of the timeline and images of the community, both past and present. We will produce three-3-minute short films and a photographic exhibition which will be toured throughout the region.

We will create a website which will include all the stories (some will be accessible as audio files); an online version of the exhibition as well as the three short films created.

We will work with volunteers, members of the Chilean community, Liverpool Central Library, The Liverpool Spanish Circle and the Merseyside Chilean Solidarity Committee.

A Chilean Story is Funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund
